Calls for urgent meeting over increase in crashes caused by oil spillages

 

A Donegal County Councillor is seeking an urgent meeting between road safety authorities and An Garda Síochána to discuss the apparent increase in the number of road collisions over recent months caused by oil spillages.
Cllr John Seamus Ó Fearraigh has written to Donegal County Council, the RSA and local Gardaí requesting the meeting and says the bodies would have figures from crashes that could prove it is an issue.
Speaking on the nine till noon show, he says it’s a serious problem in Donegal and that action from the various stakeholders is needed if it’s to be addressed:
