Questions asked over upkeep of Market Square after vicious weekend assault

Questions are being asked over the general upkeep of the Market Square in Letterkenny.
It follows the vicious assault of 18 year old Shanan Reid McDaid in the area in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardai are examining CCTV but there are now fears that overgrown trees and foliage may have blocked some of the footage recorded.
While the trees were cut away yesterday, there had been previous calls over the summer months for the work to be carried out by Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council Cllr. Gerry McMonagle.
He believes that CCTV there needs to be expanded:
