Fianna Fail urged to retract vote for farming stamp duty


A Donegal Senator has called on Fianna Fail to explain why they refused to support a vote to block stamp duty on farming land in the Dail last week.
Much concern has been raised among the farming community in Donegal following the announcment last week that stamp duty paid on property will increase from 2% to 6%.
Senator Padraig MacLocahlainn says his party will be putting forward an amendment to exempt farming land from the stamp duty increase when the Finance Bill comes to committee stage.
