17 people were registered as homeless in Donegal at the end of August

There were 17 people registered as homeless in Donegal at the end of August, one less than the previous month.
Across the North West region, there were 42 people registered as homeless, eight down on the August figure.
Official figures released today show nationally, there were 5,222 people registered as homeless, 3,527 of them in Dublin.
In the North West, 42 people were registered homeless at the end of August, representing 6% of the national total.
In July, that figure was 50, with all but one of those leaving the list doing so in Sligo. One left the list in Donegall, where there were 17 people registered as homeless at the end of last month.
Leitrim recorded a figure of zero in both July and August, the only county to do so.
The Department Housing, Planning and Local Government says it and local authorities will continue to work closely, quickly and proactively to identify further solutions that will work to help people and families in this very difficult situation.
