Police granted extension to question 18 year old following death of Derry man

Detectives from Serious Crime Branch investigating the death of 19 year old Jordan McConomy in Derry during the early hours of yesterday morning have been granted an additional 36 hours to question an 18 year old male.
The 19 year old from Rossnagalliagh was seriously injured following an altercation in the William Street area of Derry and died a short time later as a result of his injuries.
Police are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the vacinity between 1:45am and 2:15am and has any information to come forward.
Detective Geoff Boyce of the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch say they are particularly keen to speak with motorists who were either parked on or travelling along William Street during those times and who had a dash cam fitted to their vehicle.
