Health Minister ‘flabbergasted’ to learn of no new specialist Diabeties Nurses for LUH

The Donegal Branch of the Diabetes Society of Ireland says they are shocked that Donegal has been refused two Advanced Nurse Practitioner by the HSE.
An application was made for two diabetes nurses following, what was described as, a positive meeting with the Health Minister Simon Harris last year.
However it has emerged today that Letterkenny University Hospital will receive just one of 120 ANP posts country wide despite the request for 9 – and that ANP will work in respiratory care.
Paul Gillespie is the Treasurer of the Donegal Branch of the Diabetes Society of Ireland – he says they are shock be the news and have contacted the Health Minister on the issue:
