Coldplay play new song ‘Houston #1’ for victims of Hurricane Harvey

As Texas is being savaged by Hurricane Harvey, a number of celebrities have pledged their assistance – including Texas native Beyonce, who said that she was “working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St. John’s in downtown Houston) to implement a plan to help as many as we can.”
Coldplay, meanwhile, are depending on the power of music to heal as Chris Martin and song debuted a once-off song for those affected by the hurricane in Miami on Monday night.
The band were supposed to play Houston on Friday but the gig was cancelled. Instead, they wrote a song called ‘Houston #1′ over the weekend and vowed to play it only once, with Martin telling the crowd: “This is because we all grew up loving country music, and of course that’s kind of what we think of when we go to Texas.
“So if you’ll bear with us, this is a new song and we’ll never play this again. It’s a once-off, this is called Houston, we’re going to sing it in Miami for everybody here and we’re going to send it over there to everyone that missed the show.”
