Community groups urged to apply for funding

Donegal County Council is urging community groups in disadvantaged urban and rural areas to apply for funding under the Communities Facilities Scheme.
The Department of Housing, Planning Community and Local Government Scheme, which has a national allocation of €2 million for 2017, have granted Donegal Local Community Development Committee a fund of €64,500 from which they can allocate up to €1,000 per project to Community Groups in Donegal.

The Scheme provides small-scale grants for community groups all across Ireland.
It operates alongside other schemes and programmes already in place in communities, but groups can only use this funding for capital projects, or part of a capital project
Examples of projects which are eligible for this capital funding include: office equipment, project resources, research facilities, energy efficiency equipment
The Donegal Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) and Municipal District in each Donegal County Council will administer the Scheme on behalf of the Department.
The group must submit a completed Community Facilities Scheme Application Form to Donegal Local Community Development Committee by June 30th.
