Derry and Tyrone kicked off their Nicky Rackard Cup campaigns with wins over Louth and Monaghan respectively.
Tyrone ran out one point winners over Ulster rivals Monaghan by a score of 2-11 – 0-16.
Derry’s victory was slightly more comfortable, putting 2-17 past Louth who could only manage 1-12.
