SOS welcomes Mc Hugh’s intervention in debate on community hospitals’ future

The Save our Services campaign has welcomed confirmation that Junior Minister Joe McHugh has called the Health Minister to fund community hospitals in Donegal.

At a meeting with Simon Harris, Minister Mc Hugh urged him to allocate monies from the national capital fund to retain and enhance services in Lifford, Stranorlar and Ramelton, as well as the planned development of a new 120-bed community hospital in Letterkenny.

The original HSE proposal suggested the three community hospitals would be downgraded, with beds being transferred to the new Letterkenny facility.

SOS PRO Alan Mc Menamin believes the campaign is into a new phase............
