Mica Action Group disappointed at delay but says report must be thorough

The Mica Action Group says it is disappointed to learn the report from the independent panel set up earlier in the year to investigate the issue of defective blocks will be delayed until early next year.

The Department of Environment says that due to a more rigorous investigation and a more extensive nature of the problem than anticipated in both counties Donegal and Mayo, this report will be sent to the Minister at the end of January 2017.

It will made publicly available approximately 4 weeks later.

Eileen Doherty of the Mica Action Group says while they are disappointed with the delay, it is important the report is thorough...........
