Health Minster to be greeted with a protest at Letterkenny University Hospital

hospital-protest-2Around three dozen people have turned out at Letterkenny University Hospital this afternoon to protest at overcrowding and cancelled operations to coincide with a visit by the Health minister Simon Harris.
The organisers are calling for better conditions at the hospital for patients and more nursing Staff.
This morning 22 people were without a bed at the hospital an increase from 5 on Friday.
Protest organiser Gerard Gallagher hopes more people will turn up to protest ahead of the Minister’s arrival this afternoon:

Despite it being flagged as an apolitical protest, a Donegal Action Against Austerity banner is on display – group member Philip McFadden does not believe that will put other people off:

Among those protesting was a lady who has had an operation on her eyes cancelled on numerous occasions and this woman who agrees the situation seems to be getting worse:
