It is unclear if a Strabane man accused of taking part in the Regency Hotel shooting in February will be fit to stand trail.
The Irish Daily Star claims today that the 46 year-old is seriously ill in hospital with as little as 3 months to live.
Kevin Murray is currently in prison in the North awaiting extradition to the Republic of Ireland.
Earlier this week, Belfast Recorder’s Court heard that Murray was undergoing neurological tests, which would impact his fitness to stand trial.
When the accused first appeared before the Recorder’s Court in September is was announced that he was suffering from Multiple Sclerosis which is understood to have deteriorated.
Defence Barrister, Desmond Fahy said that a forensic medical officer may have to access Murray’s physical fitness to stand trial.
