CCC-NW welcome opening of North West Cancer Centre

As the North West Cancer Centre in Derry begins the process of treating its first radiotherapy patients, the campaign group Co-operating for Cancer Care North West is welcoming the opening of the centre.
The groups says it’s clear that neither Donegal nor the Western Health & Social Care trust had enough patients to justify a cancer unit in each area.
However, by joining both regions in a cross border funded arrangement, the population of the North West exceeds 500,000, the critical mass required to provide a radiotherapy service.
CCC-NW spokesperson Noelle Duddy says this will make things easier for present and future cancer patients………..
