Education Minister defends Government’s 3rd level spending

lyit logoThe Minister for Education has defended the Government’s spending on third level.
It’s after the author of an expert report into funding of higher education warned the status quo is not an option.
There report also found Letterkenny Institute of Technology is one of six across the country facing serious financial challenges.
Report author Peter Cassells addressed the Oireachtas Education Committee earlier today and said at least 100 million euro extra a year needs to be invested in the sector.
