Thailand opponent for Brett McGinty at World Youth Championships

Brett McGinty

Irish captain Brett McGinty, will be one of the first Irish boxers in action at the 2016 World Youth Championships in St Petersburg, Russia.

No Irish are involved on Thursday during day 1 but St Johnston man McGinty, Paddy Donovan and Christopher O’Reilly will battle in preliminary rounds on Friday.

Brett who is a European Schoolsboys bronze and Commonwealth Youth silver medallist will take on Kuattisak Promchuay from Thailand in the 69kg opener.
