A Letterkenny area councillor is calling on the road contractor working on the new road and junction at Kiltoy to liaise with local businesses in the area to ensure minimum disruption to their businesses.
Cllr Gerry Mc Monagle was speaking after being contacted by a number of businesses in the Kiltoy Road area who came to work last week only to find the direct route to their businesses closed and diversions in place.
None of the businesses were informed or consulted by the Roads Contractor, and Cllr Mc Monagle says he’s been told by the council that no Road Closure Licence has been applied for or issued to close this road, so technically it is an illegal road closure.
He, and local businesses, are calling for a one way system to be introduced…….
