Pedestrian knocked down near Newtonstewart two weeks ago dies in hospital

Police have confirmed that a 44-year-old man who was knocked down in Newtownstewart two weeks ago has passed away in hospital.
The pedestrian named locally as Eugene O’Brien, was struck by a black Vauxhall Vectra on the Strabane Road at around 6.35pm on Monday October 24th.
He remained on life support at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast since then but it’s understood that he died earlier today.
Police are appealing to anyone who was travelling on the Strabane Road, Newtownstewart between 6.20pm and 6.35pm on Monday, October 24 and may have witnessed this incident contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
