Having just returned from the Red Bull Rookies Trial in Spain, Rhys Irwin ended the week with two wins at the Sunflower Trophy Races in Bishopscourt.
The Kilmacrennan teenager  took victory in both of his class races, easing home by over 10 seconds in each.
He was also awarded the Hillsborough Club Perpetual Trophy for his class.
Rhys’ brother Caolan, who was on the 550cc Aprilia, had a consistent weekend, but the smaller bike suffered against the big 650cc bikes. He finished in eighth place overall in his two races.
The team had great support from home this weekend at the Sunflower from our main title personnal sponsor James Gallagher of Oasis Bar Letterkenny,Wesley Regan from Clean Rubber Sligo/Donegal.
Rhys’ spokesman extended thanks to all the team’s friends and supporters who travelled up to see the boys in action, especially Irwin Moore from Letterkenny.
