Kenny Shiels wants to tie down Rory Patterson to a new contract at the Brandywell.
According to Tuesday’s Derry Journal, the 32 year-old striker is top of Shiels priorities.
Patterson has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season.
The Derry manager told the Journal, “they’re getting close to putting a contract on the table”.
The club have already secured the signatures for another season of Barry McNamee, Ronan Curtis, Dean Jarvis, Aaron McEneff and goalkeeper, Gerard Doherty.
