Davitt Walsh is the hero as Ulster Senior League beats Connacht

FAI Intermediate Inter-Provincial result: USL 2 v 0 Connacht
The Ulster Senior League were in action today against Connacht in the FAI Intermediate Inter-Provincials and won.
Peter Moran’s team ran out 2-0 winners thanks to a brace from Fanad United’s Davitt Walsh at Douglas Hall.
The Ulster select side, which won the competition last year, began the defence of the Michael Ward Trophy with a 3-1 victory over Leinster at Mayfield on Friday.
Today’s game had to be moved to the all-weather pitch at Douglas Hall before they meet the hosts Munster tomorrow at Turner’s Cross for their third game in three days.
Davitt (30), from Kerrykeel, was the goal hero less than a day after he was awarded the Michael Heffernan Gold Medal for Marine Gallantry by Transport Minister Shane Ross for saving a baby in the Buncrana Pier tragedy of last March.
