Concern raised at decision not to increase fire service personnel in Bundoran




A Donegal County Councillor has questioned a decision by the local authority to not increase the number of fire service personnel in Bundoran.

There are currently 7 fire service personnel at the single pump station which would normally have 9.

Responding to concerns raised by Councillor John Campbell, the Council Chief Executive Seamus Neely said that a final decision on whether or not to build new stations in Ballyshannon and Bundoran or to provide an amalgamated service would be made before the end of the year.

He says with that in mind, a decision on staffing should be deferred until it is clear what the new staffing requirements would be.

Councillor John Campbell is not in agreement with that strategy:
