The Justice Minister and Tanaiste Frances Fitzgerald has announced that funding for Community Text Alert systems is to be doubled.
The local text alert system is an initiative to support and protect rural communities.
Funding is to be doubled to €350,000 as part of the Community Alert Programme.
Applications are open from now util 31st October for local community text alert groups to apply for this funding.
