Everton midfielders James McCarthy and Darron Gibson could both struggle to be fit for Ireland’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Moldova.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman has confirmed that the Republic of Ireland pair remain sidelined after undergoing surgery for groin injuries.
It leaves them with a short recovery period ahead of the next qualifier clash against Georgia at the Aviva Stadium on October 6th, which is followed by the trip to Moldova just three days later.
Derry man Gibson hasn’t featured since his one and only appearance this season against Yeovil Town in the league cup.
The midfielder who signed a new two-year deal in the summer will be out of action for around four weeks.
