20 people awaiting admission to Letterkenny University Hospital this morning

 

There were 20 people awaiting admission to Letterkenny University  hospital this morning according to the INMO. 
Today’s figures have revealed that there is a total of 19 people on trolleys in the hospitals Emergency Department while 1 person is waiting on a ward or overflow area.
The hospital has been under pressure for the past number of days with 19 people awaiting admission on Wednesday and a further 16 yesterday.
As a result, the Full Capacity Protocol was implemented which saw some non urgent elective procedures deferred.
The hospital has not issued a statement as of yet today in relation to the overcrowding situation.
