Derry Airport to announce new service as council is briefed on need for contioned subvention

A new summer sun service from Derry in 2017 is to be announced tomorrow.
The provider has not been named, but it will not be Ryanair, according to the Chairperson of the board of City of Derry Airport Roy Devine, who spoke on the Shaun Doherty Show today.
Mr Devine also confirmed the airport is trying attract other carriers, and is particularly anxious to restore a Dublin service.
Last evening, airport management briefed Derry and Strabane District Council on the need for continued subventions over the next five years to keep the airport functioning.
