Donegal mother tells of frustration and worry as daughter is sent home from Beaumont

Patients lives are being threatened by delays, according to the head of the country's national brain surgery centre.

Nine patients with malignant brain tumours were turned away from the unit in Beaumont hospital one day last week.

Clinical Director Mohsen Javadpour says people are at risk of dying while they're waiting for treatment.

On the Shaun Doherty Show today, Triona said her 16 year old daughter Chloe is one of the patients whose operation got cancelled on Friday in Beaumount.

Chloe has a tumor on her pituitary gland as a result of having Cushing Syndrome, and requires a test followed by surgery a few days later. She was admitted on Thursday and was fasting for a procedure on Friday morning, when she was told it was cancelled.

She says this has been going on for months, and she is totally frustrated..............
