Soccer review: Sean Connor tips north-west players for Ireland World Cup bid

North-west players like James McClean are tipped to make their mark on Ireland’s upcoming World Cup qualification campaign.
Highland Radio’s soccer analyst Sean Connor said McClean will give manager Martin O’Neill the option of having a direct runner against Serbia in the match on Monday night.
He also said the move to abandon Finn Harps’ match away to Sligo Rovers on Friday night due to flooding was the right decision.
He said it will not suit Harps to have a backlog of players, but warned that players could have been injured if play was allowed to continue on a waterlogged pitch.
