Number of people in Donegal signing on continues to fall

The downward trend in the numbers signing on in Donegal continued last month.
15,843 were on the live register last month, down 122 on July and down 2116 on August of 2015.
Across Donegal, 15,843 people signed on last month compared to 15,965 in July.
The largest drop was Letterkenny with number on the live register falling to below 5,000 with 186 fewer people signing on – in Ballybofey the figure was down 27 month to month.
23 less signed on Killybegs, the figure fell by 21 in tte Donegal Town area and stayed the same, at 1,718 in the Dungloe area.
Two offices recorded an increase in those signing on last month.
In Dunfanaghy the number rose by one while Inishowen recorded the largest increase – 46 people joined the register edging the total figure back towards 3,000.
