Tonight’s North West derby against Sligo Rovers gives Finn Harps the opportunity to get at least a point on the board as Ollie Horgan tries to get his side back on track to keep the club’s place in the top flight next season. The manager will be hoping that the team’s good record against their neighbours can be maintained in the final league meeting between the sides in 2016.
It was a draw at the Showgrounds in March following by an excellent 3-0 victory in Ballybofey at the beginning of June. However, Dave Robertson’s side has been in fine form since the mid-season break and will be favourites to win tonight’s clash. Failure to score a goal in the last two months is a stark statistic that bears out part of the reason for the five successive defeats that leaves Harps third from bottom – five points ahead of Wexford Youths.
Horgan’s message to the players has been to keep working hard and with just that little bit of luck hopefully the team’s fortunes will take a turn for the better tonight at the Showgrounds (kick-off 7.45).
Sean Connor will have LIVE updates on Highland this evening from Sligo Rovers v Finn Harps in association with McGettigan’s Applegreen Lifford.
