Pat the Cope highlights undocumented Irish with Congress representatives

Donegal Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher has raised the issue of the Irish undocumented with a delegation of US Congress representatives on a visit to Dáil Eireann this week.
The seven member Congressional delegation was lead by Congressman Hal Rogers of Kentucky, and was hosted by Deputy Gallagher in his capacity of Leas-Cheann Comhairle.
During the visit, Deputy Gallagher made the case for extending citizen rights and travel rights to the current undocumented Irish in the United States, of whom over 1000 are believed to be from Donegal.
He says he asked them to use their influence within the US Government to make the case for the undocumented Irish and allow for a situation whereby their positions as residents of the US would be naturalised…………..
