Sinead Jennings has qualified for the semi finals of Rowing's lightweight double sculls at the Olympic Games in Brazil.
Competing with partner Claire Lambe, the Letterkenny 39 year old took the Irish boat home second in their delayed heat this afternoon finishing behind South Africa.
The rowing competitions were postponed on Sunday due to high winds and rough water.
The pair took 7mins 10.91secs to complete the 2000mts and comfortably take a semi final place.
They will be back on the water again on Wednesday going for a place in the final
The Rio games is a first Olympics for Jennings who is competing under her married name Sinead Lynch.
