Ryanair have today announced that they are to cut the number of flights from City of Derry Airport to London Stansted this winter.
A spokesperson for City of Derry Airport has confirmed that the airline will cut it’s weekly service from 7 flights to six which will come into effect at the end of October.
The airline has said that the reason behind this move is to to pivot their growth away from UK airports and focus more on growing at EU airports over the next two years
A spokesperson for Derry City and Strabane District Council said while it is disappointing that the London Stansted route has been reduced, it remains committed to attracting new business to the airport and providing quality air access to the region.
