Rory McIlroy says moving the Irish Open from May should benefit the tournament.
The world number four hosts the event, which he won at the K Club this year.
Portstewart will be the venue for the next edition in 2017 from July 6th to 9th.
It will be followed by the Scottish Open at Dundonald and then The Open at Royal Birkdale.
