Donegal’s Under-21 hurlers beat Louth today to reach the Andrew O’Neill Cup Final.
They got off a terrible start in this All Ireland U21 Championship fixture because they allowed Louth’s Paddy Lynch to score seven points in the first opening 20 minutes and struggled to keep up.
Louth’s Eoghan Lafferty then netted a goal on 28 minutes to leave Donegal trailing by five points.
The score was Louth 1-7 (10) v 0-05 (5) Donegal.
Louth maintained their five-point advantage at the halfway mark, with the scoreboard showing: Louth 1-8 (11) v 0-06 (6) Donegal.
But in the opening exchanges of the second period, Donegal scored a goal and three points to transform the scoreline.
They drew level on 47 minutes to make it Louth 1-9 v 1-9 Donegal.
Donegal then took the lead with two goals and two points within a nine-minute period.
They wrapped up a great comeback to win by 10 points on a score of Louth 1-10 (13) v Donegal 4-11 (23).
