Locals attending demonstration to cut car insurance permiums

A rally to protest against the rising cost of car insurance is underway in Dublin city centre today.
Local groups met around the country this afternoon, and drove in convoy to Merrion Square in the city centre where a rally is taking place.
This included Valarie McNulty who travelled with other locals from the Letterkenny and West Donegal areas.
Speaking earlier to Highland Radio News she said that their main aim was to encourage the government to put pressure on these insurance companies.
Opposition TDs are due to speak at the event this afternoon, over claims that car insurance premiums have increased by up to 60 percent over the past three years.
