IDA Ireland must review decision to “abandon” Inishowen – Cllr Albert Doherty

A Donegal Councillor says IDA Ireland's gateway approach, which prioritises investment in Letterkenny, must be reviewed in light of the UK's decision to leave the EU.

Cllr Albert Doherty has received confirmation that the IDA have no property or land holdings either owned or leased in Inishowen, a policy which he says writes the entire peninsula out of the job creation and foreign direct investment story.

Cllr Doherty says Brexit will have profound economic implications for border areas, and that must be reflected in IDA policy.........

A recent enquiry by Cllr Doherty to the IDA received the following response -

Many thanks for your enquiry regarding the number of properties leased and owned by the IDA in County Donegal that are presently vacant and where they are located.
