Chloe Magee off to winning start in Canada

Chloe Magee is through to round two of Badminton’s Canadian Open in Calgary.

The Raphoe Olympian beat Tai Yi of Canada over three sets, losing the first 21-10 but bouncing back to win the next two, 21-18 21-19.

Chloe will have a difficult assignment in her next single match this evening when she takes on the number 1 seed, Michelle Li.

Chloe and her brother Sam are also on court today playing an Australian pair in the mixed doubles.

Then it will be the turn of Joshua Magee and Sam in the men’s doubles first round.

Joshua bowed out of the men’s singles on Wednesday where he lost to American Howard Shu in straight sets in the second round.

He opened his account on Tuesday with victory over Ty Lindeman, winning 20-22, 24-22, 21-8.
