Donegal man Ronan Mc Laughlin wins Donegal Atlantic Way Ultra Race

Atlantic Way Ultra RaceDonegal man Ronan Mc Laughlin has won the first ever staging of the Donegal Atlantic Way Ultra Race.
The gruelling 555-kilometre endurance event began yesterday at 10am and crossed over Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way coastline.
Organisers expected the winner of the solo event to take 22 hours to complete the course.
But Ronan finished in only 19 hours.
Another local adventurer and endurance athlete, Jason Black, finished in second place.
He had a close fought battle with Joe Barr right until the final pedal strokes and Joe finished in third position.
1st: Ronan Mc Laughlin – 19hrs, 45mins, 48sec
2nd: Jason Black – 20hrs, 53mins, 13sec
3rd: Joe Barr – 20hrs, 54mins, 28sec
