Britain votes to leave EU but West Tyrone and Derry vote to stay

The United Kingdom has voted to leave the European Union.

The Out campaign has passed the winning post with a lead of more than 1 million votes.

Overall, Scotland and Northern Ireland voted to remain - leading to questions about the possible break up of the UK.

The West Tyrone constituency voted overwhelmingly to remain with 66.8% voting to stay. The remain vote there was more than double those who voted to leave.

Meanwhile in Derry, the Foyle constituency also voted overwhelmingly to stay while East Derrys result was also in favour of staying in the EU.

Sinn Fein could call for a referendum on removing the Irish border as soon as today.
