The Offaly man left a 4 shot lead to finish tied for second 3 behind Dustin Johnson.
There was controversy as Johnson had to negotiate the last seven holes knowing he could be docked a shot for an infringement on the 5th.
Other players such as Rory Mc Ilroy , Jordan Speith and Rickie Fowler all took to twitter to criticize the U.S.G.A for how they handled the situation
Lowry is just disappointed he let his advantage slip.
