Wreckage found as search continues for missing microlight passengers

Police and aviation experts are continuing their investigations following the discovery of wreckage from a microlight aircraft off the coast of Co. Antrim yesterday.
The aircraft – an Ikarus C42 microlight- disappeared after leaving City of Derry Airport on Thursday evening, one of two microlights to take off from the airport on Thursday evening bound for Scotland. The second landed safely.
Wreckage, including the tail fin, was discovered by a Dublin couple who were on holiday in their yacht, about 1km North of Glenarm.
The wreckage has been confirmed as belonging to the missing microlight aircraft, and the search for the missing passengers is continuing.
An Irish Coastguard helicopter, a helicopter from Scotland and five RNLI lifeboats took part in the search operation, which is continuing today.
