Body of missing Letterkenny man recovered from Lough Swilly

 
 
Gardai have confirmed that a body has been recovered from the water at Scraggy pier near Portsalon following an extensive search for a missing Letterkenny man. 
The man was first reported missing yesterday and a major search and rescue operation was launched by Malin Head Coastguard assisted by the Sligo 118 helicopter and the Mulroy Coastguard.
The search resumed at 9am this morning and the  Sheephaven sub aqua club recovered the body from the water at approximately 12pm this afternoon.
Gardai have thanked the public for their assistance and say their thoughts are with the family.
