The Mica issue has been discussed again in the Dail, with Donegal Deputy Charlie Mc Conalogue saying the he believes there are thousands of homes affected.

He was responding to Minister of State Damien English, who said there are around 300 confirmed cases at the moment, but investigations are continuing.

He committed to visiting Donegal in the near future to see the extent of the problem, but in the meantime, he said the expert panel established earlier this year must be given time to its work.

Minister English acknowledged there were delays in establishing the panel, but said the group is now working very well, and may beat its deadline to report..............
