Successful day for local schools at Ulster athletics competition

There was a very successful day at Ulster Schools athletics on Saturday for local schools.
Janine Boyle, from St Columba’s in Stranorlar, won the 100m and 200m and anchors her school to gold, breaking records in both sprint events that stood for 24 years.
Brendan O’Donnell of Eunans won the hammer with an impressive 66.84 – a new record.
Cate Smyth from the Royal and Prior won the long jump and Abby Meenan from Columba’s won the high jump.
Sommer Lecky, who is from Castlederg and is a student at Strabane Grammar, won the high jump.
