Harps shocked by Crumlin as Rovers draw in Athlone

FAI Ford Senior Cup Showcases New Trophy
Finn Harps were dumped out of the FAI Senior Cup 2nd round by non-league Crumlin United at Finn Park on Saturday night.
But it was a better night for Letterkenny Rovers who drew 0-0 away to First Division Athlone Town.
The only goal of the game at Finn Park  came 3 minutes into the second half when Gregory Moorhouse scored from close in after Richard Brush had fumbled Dean Hurley’s effort.
Crumlin were good value for their lead. They’d matched their opponents from first whistle and caused plenty of problems coming forward.
The Dublin club had beaten Letterkenny Rovers 5-0 in the FAI Intermediate Cup final a week earlier. Moorhouse scored three that night – and he proved the cup hero again with the winner over Harps.
Ollie Horgan’s side ended the game with ten men after Barry Molloy picked up two yellow cards in the second half.
The Rovers v Athlone Town replay will be at Leckview Park on Tuesday evening at 6pm.
