The IT gap between North and South is set to widen even more according to Midlands North West MEP Marian Harkin.
She was speaking afteer confirmation this week that the UK government is to give all people a legal right to broadband.
She says this will mean that small towns in the West and North West will be at a considerable competitive disadvantage compared to towns north of the border, and that will make a nonsense of the government’s plan to create over 135,000 jobs by 2020 in rural areas within five years.
Ms Harkin says the government here must show the same level of commitment………
