Harps picked up another valuable point following Friday night’s goalless draw with Bohemians.
And they had goalkeeper Ciaran Gallagher to thank after he produced a wonderful save from Anto Murphy’s 94th minute penalty to keep Bohs at bay.
Up until that dramatic conclusion, it had been a dour struggle with very few clear-cut openings over the 90 minutes.
Harps played well in patches, especially in the first half, and at times they moved the ball about with real confidence.
However, a lack of penetration in the final third meant they never tested Dean Delaney in the visiting goal although Damien McNulty wasn’t too far away with a long range shot just before the break.
Bohs themselves struggled to create any opportunities of any note. Robert Lopez went closest with a flashing header early in the second half. But other than that, the Dublin side carried little threat.
That was until Ciaran Coll fouled his man in the box deep into injury time. However, substitute Murphy saw his penalty saved by Gallagher.
Harps stay seventh in the Premier Division table, a point ahead of Bohs.
