New settings for residential care will have positive impact on Donegal community hospitals – McHugh

It has been claimed that the new National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older people published today will have a positive impact on the provision of residential care in Donegal.
The new settings will allow for the maximum of four residents per room in long term nursing care as opposed to the old standard of two.
Welcoming the news, acting Minister Joe McHugh believes this has particular relevance to community hospitals in the county.
He says this will be an important factor in local discussions over on-going concerns of long term care in Stranorlar, Lifford and Ramelton:
