Shay Given’s back pushing for a place to the Euro’s

Shay Given is back on course for making the Republic of Ireland’s Euro2016 squad after the Lifford stopper started in goals for Stoke City in Monday night’s game with title chasing Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite the 4-0 defeat, Shay has given himself a real chance of a place on the plane to France this summer.
Shay was named ahead of Jakob Haugaard at the Britiannia and a run of games in Mark Hughes’ side would have him right back in contention.
Darren Randolp, Kieran Westwood, David Forde and Shay are in the running for the three available goalkeeping spots.
His appearance on Monday night was Shay’s 442nd in the Premier League and his first in nearly a year.
Shay will celebrate his 40th Birthday on Friday.
